Jon – Suha the Survivor
Tim – Threevius the Champion
Ian – Galateia the Heretek
[Mark] – Atan the Forsaken
Though Aaron & Mark could not make the session, there was agreement to play Atan (Mark) as NPC since he had been instrumental in negotiating, etc. Jon & Ian played him by committee.
The session began with the characters seeking a way to Sacgrave in order to recover the Tyrant’s Cord. (See the Compact formed at last session).
The party decided not to bargain the Dark Eldar and try to walk the Web through the Warp (as Atan has a hatred of Eldar!). So they went to Bandy’s Tavern in the Guts, near the shipyard, to find passage. Threevius approached a female captain of a ship called the Unholiday and sought passage, but in the midst of bargaining he 00’d his intimidate roll and was laughed out of their company. They then turned to the serves of Vidi Gregorius of the “black cargo” ship “Wandering Regrets” for passage. Gregorius got them to Sacgrave with no untoward events and the second mate with the disturbing laugh ferried the party to the surface.
Following the frequency of the beacon from Palmyra Grath’s downed ship, the PCs came upon a small settlement amongst ruined towers known as the Weeping Halls (due to the constant thunder and rainstorms that beset Sacgrave). They bought a treasure map from Udolpho the map-dealer and all-purpose guide. They found the downed ship and found signs of foul play but no clues to the whereabouts of the Tyrant’s Cord.
Returning to the settlement for more clues, they were challenged to an open-air bar fight by the lightning troops of the Leige of the Weeping Halls. Getting the drop (all winning initiative) on the guards, they handily dispatched them, impressing the locals and winning leverage in bargaining with the Liege. After some negotiation and failed attempts to repair the lightning casters of his guards, he agreed to let them take his Ork bodyuard down into the vaults to seek the four strangers who had apparently taken the cord, but only if they dispatched some mutants that periodically attacked the Weeping Halls from a camp outside the walls. (Strangely, Udolpho already eagerly showed the party where the Vaults are, so in theory, they could break the deal if they trust Udolpho..!)
Next session will begin with the effort to destroy the mutant camp; if successful, the party will advance into the vaults in order to dispatch the strangers.
